Tigers and Flies Update:
Implications of President Xi Jinping's Anti-Corruption Campaign

We are pleased to welcome back Leo Chan from Virgo Partners as our speaker on April 29th. This program is a follow up from our 2013 event with Mr. Chan, titled Understanding China’s New Anti-Corruption Campaign. We will take a look back at Mr. Chan’s predictions from almost 3 years ago, and discuss the business implications of President Xi Jinping’s campaign against corruption.

“Tigers and Flies” refers to a vow by President Xi Jinping to crack down on both “tigers” and “flies” – powerful leaders and lowly bureaucrats – in his campaign against corruption. Xi has said corruption threatens the ruling communist party’s survival and his 3-year campaign has led to the down fall of senior party officials in the government, military, and large state owned enterprises. Others have speculated it is as much about cracking down on corruption as it is about taking down political enemies and rivals. Will this campaign reach a balancing point or will this continue to be a factor in the remainder of Xi Jinping’s presidency?

This event will take place on Friday, April 29th, 2016, from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Learning Center located at 3 East 4th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.

*Lunch will be provided. Registration Fees: $20 for members, $30 for non-members, $15 for students (with valid ID).
