Social investment – demystifying the hype Thursday 18 May 2017 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>
Are you familiar with the idea of social investment? Have you ever considered it as an option for your charity or social enterprise? Do you understand the potential opportunities and the potential risks?
If you are a Chair or Vice Chair join us for this opportunity to learn more about social finance, (ie repayable finance that aims to achieve a social as well as a financial return) and how to assess whether it’s the right option for your charity or social enterprise. We are holding this event with GET INFORMED a campaign supported by a number of organisations including the Association of Chairs and the Charity Commission to help charity trustees and non-executive directors of social enterprises to better understand the opportunities and risks of using social investment.
Our speakers will include:
• Geetha Rabindrakumar Head of Social Sector Engagement, Big Society Capital
• Mark Salway Director of Social Finance and Social Investment, Centre for Charity Effectiveness, Cass Business School
• A panel of Chairs currently considering or using social investment including Bev Pass (Women’s Aid) and Mike Parker (Streetleague)
In addition to hearing from our speakers there will be group discussion and an opportunity to network after.
