Showcase Your Site!

Further to an email sent out recently, our sister organisation, Travel for Cambridgeshire (formerly Travel for Work), are commissioning new photography to be taken for use across their new marketing materials and a new website.  Travel Plan Plus would also like to take advantage of this and arrange for some new photos for our new website too.

Our photographer, Phil Mynott, will use the Travel Plan Plus area to take some of these photos, and will be looking attend some of the employer sites to take shots which reflect sustainable commuting.  This could include shots of cycling stands, for example, along with some employees as ‘models’, locking bikes up etc.

We are keen to showcase the great facilities in the area, we are sure you are too! Please let us know by Thursday 30th October if you would like your site to be involved.  If your workplace is one of the chosen employer sites, Phil will report to the reception of your workplace.  The exact date this will happen is weather dependent, but this is likely to be week commencing Monday 3rd November. He may well ask for some volunteers to take part in some of the shots (cyclists for example). Of course we will provide you with a copy of your professional photos for you to use too.

Get ready for the 2015 Travel Plan Awards

Preparations for the 2015 Travel Plan Awards are well under way.  This year we are looking at revamping our awards criteria and categories to make the application process simpler and the classification clearer.

The Travel Plan Awards is our annual event highlighting the achievements and commitment of organisations that are helping to reduce congestion, save their staff money, as well as promoting sustainable and healthy commuting initiatives.

We will be shortly sending out details on how and when to apply, so we very much encourage you to start thinking about your application.

The 2014 Awards were held at Alconbury Weald in Huntingdon on 14 March last year. Amongst employers receiving the top awards were Cambridge University Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust, Anglia Ruskin University, Peterborough Environment City Trust, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus and Cross Keys Homes.

The success of our 2014 event will be hard to beat, however the TfC and TP+ teams will help you with the application process as well as encouraging you to develop and embed your travel plan in the day to day running of your business.  Not only will it make your company more attractive to prospective employees, but it will also put you in a better place to tackle the numerous issues and pressures caused by the demographic and economic growth of the region.
