Great Green Transport Week!

Thank you to everyone who came along to the TP+ Green Transport Week events on the 15th and 19th June. It was great to meet employees based on the Science Park and Business Park, we hope you enjoyed the free bike powered smoothies and the Brompton and Inner Tube Challenge.

Also congratulations to the prize winners Lee Charters (GHX UK Ltd), Patricia Kurl (CRC), Daniel Lowe (Next Move), David Webster (BBC), David Weir (CSR) and Jialin Dou (CSR).

Busway Lighting Project

Balfour Beatty Living Places has now been appointed as the contractor for the Busway Lighting Project. The street lamps will be installed along unlit sections of the foot and cycleway alongside the Busway in Cambridge.

The lamps are being installed:
  • between Cambridge railway station and Trumpington Park & Ride (excluding the link to Addenbrooke’s);
  • between Milton Road and the A14 underpass;
  • from the Milton Road junction to Cambridge Science Park Station; and
  • along the new pedestrian and cycle access adjacent to the Nuffield Road allotment are being installed now.
The existing lighting at the Milton Road junction with the busway will also be improved.

There will be a total of 68 lamps between Cambridge station and Trumpington P&R and 39 lamps on the northern section. Installation of lighting along the routes mentioned above will further encourage the use of these pedestrian and cycle links, improve visibility of other pedestrians, cyclists and hazards, and generally encourage more people to walk and cycle in and around Cambridge.

Works are planned to start later this month and be completed by the end of August 2015. However, should there be any unexpected, difficult ground conditions or very wet weather, the installation of the lamps might extend into September.

 Milton Road Underpass

TP+ has been informed by Cambridgeshire County Council that the transport link works on Milton Road have been completed, that traffic arrangements are back to normal and the underpass has been re-opened.
