NLS is pleased to invite you to the first public open studio for Rodell Warner's art residency Canopy Guild-- a collaborative project with Afifa Aza, Ayana Riviére, Ai Yoshida, Leasho Johnson and Storm Saulter.

Canopy Guild is  a community photography, fashion and object design project. From images captured in nature Warner has produced patterns and printed fabrics. Five artists from Kingston were asked to help create wearable garments and art objects from these fabrics and patterns, which will be shared publicly in a multimedia exhibition in May.  Tomorrow's studio visit is an opportunity to get a peak into the creative process of Warner and his collaborators.

Takes place tomorrow, April 28 at 190 Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 6. 7 PM - 9 PM. This event is free and open to the public.

About NLS
New Local Space (NLS) is a contemporary visual art initiative and micro-gallery in Kingston, Jamaica that is a subsidiary of Creative Sounds Limited. NLS provides professional support for the work of visual artists committed to breaking new ground in their work, builds and connects new audiences to these artists, and links these artists to the global contemporary art community. We provide the public with a platform for accessing experimental exhibitions, artist residencies, and a meeting place for new ideas and cutting edge approaches to art. NLS’ programming is an open international cultural forum grounded in the spirit of experimentation and collaboration. The organisation operates out of a 200 sq ft garage turned white box and its 1500 sq ft outdoor space, as well as through curatorial initiatives with international art spaces, and through online programming.
