Chamber of Commerce: Gold Show

Outdoor booths are now SOLD OUT for the 2015 International Gold Show. Indoor booths are still available, but are selling fast. If you or someone you know is thinking about registering, do not hesitate, now is the time!

Delegate packages are now available. Check the website for more information. Registration for delegate packages will be done the traditional way - by contacting the office or by e-mailing or faxing the registration form. Our keynote speaker is Larry Berman on Saturday, May 16th. Information on Larry Berman and other influential speakers confirmed can be found on the Gold Show website.
Regular registration for indoor booths can be done online. Keep checking the website as we continue to add and finalize information.

We are currently looking for a non-profit organization interested in running the concession during Gold Show. The organization will be recognized and promoted on the Gold Show website. This is a fundraising opportunity; money made through the concession will be funding for the non-profit organization. For more information, or to put your organization forward, please contact the office by April 24th, 2015.

Members' Luncheon Meeting

A big Thank You to Chelsea Cambpell from Ceridian Canada Ltd. for providing this month's presentation at the Members' Luncheon. Thank you to all the members who came out, asked questions, and contributed to the discussion.  There will be no Luncheon in May as a result of Gold Show. We will resume our monthly Luncheons in June with Tr’ondëk Klondike World Heritage.

Canada Job Grant

This program supports employers interested in investing in training for current or future employees. Training may be offered by colleges, trade union centres or private trainers. Training can take place in a classroom, a workplace or online. Costs are shared by the employer and Advanced Education.

TIA Yukon is working with the Department of Tourism and Culture to organize an afternoon of industry - Visitor information Centre (VIC) staff networking and information sharing. This event is a component of annual staff training for all VIC employees, and thus employees from the Yukon VICs are expected to be in attendance. Check the poster for more details.

The Yukon Government released its 2015-2016 budget on April 2. The Yukon Chamber made preliminary comments on the budget. After further review, it has issued a report card for the budget. Read the press release and report card
