Green Weekis an annual week of climate action in institutions across the country.
This year at King's we will be focusing on how individuals and individual actions can make a difference to reducing our environmental footprint.
We've got an action packed week of activities for you to get involved with, from our recycling challenge to making sustainability pledges. Come along and join us each day at lunchtime as we tour the campuses, starting at Guy’s on Monday 9th Feb and ending at Strand on Friday 13th Feb.
Firstly we're hitting New Hunt's House on Monday 9th. We will be joined by the sustainable labs team, RSPB and London Farmers Market. Come a try some organic apple juice, learn about London wildlife, take your carbon footprint and make a sustainability pledge with us between 12.00 - 14.00.
Tuesday 10th we'll be visiting Champion Hill residences 14.00-16.00, joined by Institute of Environmental management and assessment (IEMA) who will be looking at careers in Sustainability. We'll also be joined by King's Scandinavian Society who will be running an IKEA style challenge with some great prizes (1st prize is two tickets to London's ice bar!). Think you can beat the clock? Take the recycling challenge with us to win a case of popcorn! We'll also be hosting a film screening of Best Before (with free popcorn) at 19.30 in the TV room.
Wednesday 11th we'll be at Denmark Hill 12.00-14.00.Come and learn about how to make labs more sustainable or take your sustainability pledge. Come along to our Environmental Audit training at WEC room 13, 13.00-15.00 in preparation for King's Unplugged!
Thursday 12th at Waterloo 12.00-14.00, IEMA will be joining us again as well as Lush, who will be advertising their products and why cosmetics should be vegetarian/ vegan and not tested on animals. Want to know how much King's spends on its energy bill? We'll be taking over the Waterfront Quiz at 20.00 so come find out!
Our last day is Global Divestment day- Friday 13th at Strand 12.00-14.00. We'll be joined by IEMA and Lush again for another action packed day. Join us in the evening for King's Unplugged at Denmark Hill (meet at WEC 18.00).

Join EcoSoc and KCL Amnesty International as they discuss the questions 'should the right to environment be a human right'. Joining them are speakers from Client Earth, Environmental Justice Foundation and UK Divestment.
Take part in King's Unplugged (formerly the Blackout) and gain experience in environmental and energy auditing as we save unnecessary energy waste across Denmark Hill Campus.

Environmental and Ethical Careers Conference
The EECC, funded by alumni donations to King's Community Fund, is co-organised by EcoSoc, the Careers department and King's Sustainability Team. The aim of the conference is to offer students and recent graduates at King's to see and hear about the diverse array of organisations within the sustainability and ethical sector.
