It's Time to Get Your COVID-19 Booster
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), everyone 18 years of age and older should get a COVID-19 booster shot.  Getting a booster is an important layer of protection for child care providers, especially as the weather cools and programs spend more time indoors.
  • If you got the Pfizer or Moderna for your first 2 doses, schedule your booster at least 6 months after your second dose.
  • If you got the Johnson & Johnson for your first dose, schedule your booster at least 2 months after your dose.

These posters from the Head Start Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center encourage parents to get their children vaccinated against COVID-19.
Doctors Answer Questions About Vaccines
Parents in your program may be looking for expert advice as they think about vaccinating their 5-11 year old children.  One trusted source is the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which has published advice about the COVID-19 vaccines and a fact sheet about the science behind vaccines for parents.
