23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year C)
8TH SEPTEMBER 2019

INTRODUCTION

As a God of love, we come into his presence with confidence.

SCRIPTURE READINGS

Wisdom 9:13-18 The greatest part of wisdom is to know the limits of our own wisdom, and to turn to God whose wisdom is without limit.
Philemon 9-10, 12-17 Paul knows two Christians, Philemon, the Master and Onesimus, the slave. But Paul regards them as brothers in Christ, and so they must learn to see each other in a new light.
Luke 14:25-33 Luke's Gospel famously portrays Jesus as gentle, meek and mild; yet here, Jesus urges us to make the deepest and strongest of sacrifices for his sake.
