SAFETY PATROL --> NEW THIS YEAR

We are asking parents to volunteer a half hour one time during the school year to walk around the neighborhood at dismissal time. At the PTA meeting Tuesday we introduced this new initiative and already we have about 20 parents signed up.

Our immediate needs are for Thursday 10/1, Friday 10/2, Thursday 10/8 from 2:50 to 3:20 and Wednesday 10/7 from 2:10-2:40

If you can help on any of these days please email alix.botwinkrell@mac.com

We hope to have sign-up sheets in all the classrooms at the breakfasts on 10/1.  So please look for them and sign up for a slot to help keep our children safe.

DATA ENTRY HELP

Looking for a volunteer for a few hours on Monday or Tuesday to do data entry for class lists! If you would like to volunteer, please email Parent Coordinator, Anne McIntosh Pejovich.

BOXTOPS COORDINATORS

We are also looking for a Boxtops Coordinator or two for MS54. Coordinators organize and submit the Boxtops collected by the school. If you are able to help, please email the PTA.

PTA BOARD 6TH GRADE REP NOMINATIONS

Nominations are open for the 6th Grade Representative and we encourage all parents to consider nominating themselves or others for this role. PTA officers for the 2015-16 school year were elected at the June PTA meeting, with the exception of the 6th grade representative.

The 6th Grade Rep serves as the liaison between the 6th grade teachers and class parents and assists the school with communication and outreach for the class.

Election for that position will be held at the October PTA general meeting. Anyone else wishing to nominate themselves or others may do so by notifying Joanna Om of the election committee by 5pm Monday, October 5 or at the PTA meeting on October 6.  A description of the job function for the representative is included in the PTA Bylaws.

If you have questions about this blurb, please email omijo@mac.com.

BE A CLASS PARENT
