Booker T Food Drive - Mon. June 8
Drop off from 7:30  - 9:30 am

Hundreds of meals are being cooked and distributed by the Booker T cafeteria team each day for our neighbors in need, but they are not the same as the meals these families would make on their own.

Help by donating a shopping bag of non-perishable food.  Suggested items:  pasta, tomato sauce, canned beans, canned tuna fish, peanut butter, jelly, boxes of Mac & Cheese, mayonnaise, cereal, olive oil, rice.

Drop off donations at “The Flagpole” entrance on 107 Street, Monday, June 8 between 7:30 am and 9:30 am.  Anne Pejovich will be there to greet you.
Volunteers Needed for Daily Mask Distribution

Anne Pejovich is looking for volunteers to distribute masks given by the city to the folks who come to Booker T for grab and go meals.  One volunteer needed each day, Tuesday through Friday (Anne is doing Mondays), 7:30 am until 1:30 pm.  Please email: amcintosh6@schools.nyc.gov and request a specific day through June 26.
Support Booker T Small Businesses

The Booker T community includes many families who run small businesses. Please consider shopping with them first if you’re in need of French lifestyle or food items, children’s apparel & accessories, tutoring, music instruction, COVID masks, dental services, energy bars or chocolate, martial arts, or general fitness and wellness. Are you the owner or operator of a small business? Please let us know here and we will add you to the list.
Help Close the Funding Gap

With the cancellation of all our spring fundraising events, we are facing a $65,000 funding gap for the year. While we realize that this is a difficult time to ask for money, the loss of these funds combined with the draconian DOE budget cuts for next year may have an impact on our school’s offerings. If you are able to give, please do! No amount is too big or too small.
