Help Close the Funding Gap!

For the 2019 - 2020 school year, our goal was to raise $475,000 through various fundraising events and we’ve raised nearly $410,000 in spite of unprecedented challenges and the cancellation of all our spring events.

We recognize that this is an extremely difficult, stressful, and financially uncertain time, but after much discussion, we have decided to try to close the funding gap of $65,000. If you are in a position to donate any amount, it would be greatly appreciated. And if you are not, we understand.

To donate, please visit our fundraising page here.  All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

108th Street Construction Update

WSFSSH is a 100% affordable housing facility and therefore qualifies as an essential construction operation and continues to build. WSFSSH is in the process of working out the timing for the Valley Lodge occupants to move back when construction is finished. It will probably be towards the end of this year.

Jerome Kramer and Chris Giordano have been liaisons between Booker T and WSFSSH and neighborhood stakeholders in the Construction Advisory Group that meets on a monthly basis. Exec Board member Kyle Clayton has volunteered to take over those responsibilities. We have discussed inviting WSFSSH to join a future PTA meeting to share details and answer questions from our community.

2020 Census
Just under half of New York City residents have responded to the 2020 Census. It is absolutely essential --for fair representation in government, equitable public funding, and much more-- that all New Yorkers participate. Every household has the option of responding online, by phone, or by mail. Learn more here.
