Ready, steady…. beta?!
As we’re gearing up for our private beta launch, many of you have asked…what the *$%^! is a BETA anyway?
A beta version allows early access to a website ahead of a general release to the public. With a closed beta, as in our case, access is restricted to invited users. These beta testers not only get a technical preview of the site, but also get to influence the direction it is taking as their usage and feedback directly impacts the release of new features. Meaning we will be improving the site to suit your needs and wishes, not only our idea of them..!
Sounds super nerdy cool right?
Sneaky preview
Technical jargon aside, we have some pretty inspirational individuals, designers and brands already signed up, and couldn't resist giving you a sneaky peek of some of the wonderful homes they are sharing on at{mine}. Hope this wets your appetite for more..!

about {town}

In this new section we bring you some titbits of design news from our capital and occasionally further afield.

What to see: 'Tomorrow' Elmgreen & Dragset at the V&A

The leading Scandi duo Elmgreen & Dragset have transformed the V&A’s former Textile Galleries to recreate an architect’s apartment in a play yet to be staged... Take to the stage with a script and explore the set, sit down at the dining table, skim through the books, or even lay down on the bed. The pairs' socially critical stance finds its way into the subtle and witty installations.
V&A, Oct 1 2013 - Jan 2 2014

Where to shop: West Elm is coming to London!

We were very excited to discover that US design store West Elm will open a physical location on Tottenham Court Road in London! The plan is for the Brooklyn headquartered brand to open here in time for the Christmas shopping (Santa take note!). This will be the first Williams Sonoma Inc. store in Europe, perhaps its sister brands will brave the jump across the pond soon, too?

What to look forward to: Design Museum goes West

After 24 years in what was once a banana warehouse in east London, the Design Museum has found a new home very close to at{mine}’s headquarters….the Commonwealth Institute on Kensington High Street! This new space will open in 2015 and will be three times as large as its former home. Minimalist architect John Pawson will take on the refurbishment, which will incorporate a permanent collection with art education facilities. We're looking forward to welcoming our new neighbour to the hood!
