Se̓liš Ksanka Ql̓ispe̓ Hydroelectric Project Operation for Flathead Lake
The current elevation at Flathead Lake is at 2888.9’. Current inflows are ~37,900 cfs and outflows are ~21,800 cfs. The freshet has begun and the lake is filling. We approximate the end of May elevation to be between 2890’ and 2891’. During the month of June, Flathead Lake will approach absolute full (2893’) as the local flood risk diminishes.
The current SNOTEL sowpack water equivalent is 78% of normal. Precipitation for the Flathead River Basin is 29% from normal for the month of May and temperatures are near normal.
