Field volunteers needed for Election Day!

An update from the Voting Rights Project of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee

Election Day is less than two weeks away, and we need your help.  Together, we are changing the narrative and building a strong non-partisan effort to protect the rights of all eligible voters.

Chicago Lawyers’ Committee’s Voting Rights Project is working to monitor polling places in Chicago and several suburban counties, share accurate information about voting rights in Illinois, and encourage community members to call us at 866-OUR-VOTE with questions about registration or voting.

The good news is that, due to overwhelming interest, all Chicago hotline volunteer shifts have been filled! However, we are still seeking field volunteers to help us address the growing challenges in disenfranchised communities, especially in suburban Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, and Kane Counties.

Please sign up today for an Election Protection volunteer shift and CLE training at, or click here for an alternate registration link.

Thank you,

Ami Gandhi
Director of Voting Rights and Civic Empowerment

Ami Gandhi, Director of Voting and Civic Empowerment, spoke last Thursday as part of the Lawyering and Race in the 21st Century Speaker Series at Northwestern University's Children and Family Justice Center. CLC has also spoken about voting rights at events hosted by DePaul Center for Black Diaspora, American Constitution Society, Federalist Society, and more.

Thank you to all who joined us on Oct. 19 for Face Off: Presidential debate watching party at the Weinberg/Newton Gallery! We had a fantastic panel discussion featuring Ethan Michaeli, author of The Defender, and we thank our co-sponsors Common Cause Illinois and ACLU of Illinois.
