On White Ribbon Day, consider supporting Femili PNG
"... family violence happens to everybody. No matter how nice your house is, how intelligent you are. It can happen to anyone, and everyone."
– Rosie Batty, 2015 Australian of the Year
Parliaments in both Australia and Papua New Guinea are asking how we can stop the scourge of family and sexual violence. It is a shared problem, but there is also the potential for us to share solutions.
On our website, you can read our Senior Development Manager Kath Taplin’s eloquent reflections on what Femili PNG is doing to respond to this universal challenge in Lae and beyond. You can also read our recent submission to the PNG parliamentary inquiry on violence against women and children here.
To continue and to expand the work of Femili PNG, we need your support. Today, on White Ribbon Day, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, please consider making a tax deductible donation. If you are in Australia, you can make your tax-deductible donation online here, through our partner AFAP. In PNG, you can make a tax-deductible donation through bank transfer—the details are here. If you need assistance or further information, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To find out more about us, check out our website, or read our latest Annual Report.
You can also help spread the word by sharing the stories on our website through social media—use the hashtags #WhiteRibbonDay, #IDEVAW or #16days.
Thank you for your ongoing interest in our work—through partnerships and practical assistance for survivors, we can make a difference.
