Afterschool Action Day 2020: Update!
It's time to register for our annual Afterschool Action Day trip to Harrisburg! This trip is a great civic engagement opportunity for you and the youth you serve to visit the state capitol to meet with elected officials. It's also a great way for youth and providers to connect with other programs, as we usually have around 120 participants joining us from Pittsburgh.
Update: This year's trip will take place on Tuesday May 19th, with buses leaving Pittsburgh at 5:30am. If you're able to join us, we encourage you to register as soon as possible so that we can reserve your space on the bus and begin scheduling with elected officials on your behalf. To learn more and to register, please complete the form at the link below.

Census: Contest Deadline Approaching!
The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform billions in federal funding, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade. APOST has partnered with the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, Allegheny Intermediate Unit, Pittsburgh Public Schools and the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers to host a video competition which will help children understand the importance of participating in the census. Win up to $500 cash! The contest is open to K-12th graders across Allegheny county. We encourage you to enter with your afterschool program for a chance to win and learn more about the census. Also, check out Space County! This app is a great way to engage students and teach them about the importance of being counted.
