CLUB MARINE EDITORIAL
It was a great privilege to escort Journalist Graham Lloyd, around the Lake for the second editorial for Club Marine magazine, which has now been published in the current edition. This year the editorial was in conjunction with Lake Macquarie City Council. We spent the day touring the lake by water visiting every corner, highlighting the best boating access points we have to offer, also taking in local yacht clubs and down to Trinity Point. I believe the best way to keep our Lake uppermost in peoples minds is by spreading the love.
THERE SHE BLOWS!!
Have you been out whale watching over the past weekends?? I took my family and friends out and we definitely weren't disappointed with the view. From seals on the bows of ships to 5 pods of whales all breaching and playing while making their way up the coast. If you do intend on making the visit outside to view their beauty please ensure you are respectful of exclusion zones - enjoy them from a distance and you still wont be disappointed.
SYDNEY INT. BOAT SHOW - I am off to the boat show freelancing this week to spread the good word about the best kept secret in NSW Lake Macquarie. Hope to see you down there - see the link below for online ticket bookings.
Regards
Les

AMSA - ONLINE BEACON REGISTRATION

Just a reminder that since September 2015 AMSA has been accepting registrations/new/updated/renewals for EPIRBs via their new and improved online registration system which has also seen the move to an online compliance management program which has done away with registration stickers issued.
They have had a terrific take-up of this new initiative with online registrations increasing by 75% since its inception. The most common question they are being asked is whether existing stickers are still valid - yes until next renewal - with renewal required every two years.
AMSA has produced a compliance guide to assist with explaining the new system which can be viewed online here
