Your safety is our priority and we would like to provide you with important information regarding the coronavirus and travel. 
 
In addition, please note that Kintetsu will follow the waiver guidelines set forth by the major carriers.  Should the airline’s waive fees, associated with the exchange, void or return of any air tickets, Kintetsu will also waive all our services fees, as it applies to these transactions.

Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad F. Wolf’s Statement on Presidential Proclamation To Protect the Homeland from Travel-Related Coronavirus Spread

Release Date: March 11, 2020
(WASHINGTON) Today President Donald J. Trump signed a Presidential Proclamation, which suspends the entry of most foreign nationals who have been in certain European countries at any point during the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival to the United States. These countries, known as the Schengen Area, include: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. For those that wish to cancel their scheduled trips to Japan, we offer the following information and services:
  • Non-Refundable Air Ticket:
If you purchased a non-refundable ticket, it cannot be refunded without a waiver issued by the airline.However, you can apply the value of the ticket for a future trip for the same traveler and airline travel within one year (Subject to rules, regulations and penalties of the carrier). 
  • Hotel and Other Land Arrangements:
The terms are subject to the supplier’s cancellation policy.However, we will make our best effort to negotiate a refund or waive cancellation penalties on your behalf.
  •  JR Pass handling:
Due to Coronavirus situation,if you cancel your trip to Japan, KIE/Kintetsu International waives 10% refund fee for those travelers who purchased JR Pass from KIE USA and planned to use it until 3/31/2020.
