If You were unable to Attend the Exploring CodeSMTX Open House in person, we are inviting you to JOIN THE VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE and provide valuable input on the strategies shaping CodeSMTX.

The City of San Marcos has been working with residents, a nine-member citizen committee, and a team of consultants since last year to define the problems and propose strategies that will help San Marcos achieve the Vision from the Comprehensive Plan. During the Open House, approximately 75 participants began exploring and providing feedback on the strategies proposed in CodeSMTX for the four different Comp Plan Areas.  A summary of the feedback from the open house is included below and a detailed summary can be found Here
These CodeSMTX Strategies help address growth pressures on our city by:
  • Accommodating future growth in well-planned areas where people can meet their daily needs within a short walk, bike, transit trip, or drive.
  • Clarifying, streamlining and simplifying the Code so the rules are clear and easy to follow.
  • Creating a more predictable built environment based on community desires expressed in our City's Vision.
