Note from Mrs. Stenberg

Happy May! I hope you all enjoyed this weekend and the beautiful spring weather! I love how this time of year is filled with picnics and parks and outdoor adventures! Please read ahead to learn more about a few of the adventures we have scheduled for this week.

Notes and Notices

MAP Almost Completed! YAY!
All of the students put forth a ton of effort on MAP! I am so proud of all the ways the students took responsibility by preparing themselves and working diligently on the assessments. During those days, the students had terrific attitudes and worked with care and determination to show all the ways they have learned and grown this school year! They truly did a wonderful job! Students who did not finish a MAP assessment will complete them on Tuesday, 5/2.

1st Grade Award Ceremony Set-Up Crew
We are in need of 8 helpers to set up the lunchroom for our 1st Grade Award Ceremony at 1:25. This job entails shifting around tables and chairs to create seating in front of the stage. If you are available, we’d love your help. Please see the link in the email.

Field Day
Field Day will take place on Friday, May 5th. Please plan to have your student wear uniform shorts, a t-shirt in our country color and comfortable socks and tennis shoes. Also please send a full water bottle for Field Day. We will begin promptly at 8:15.

End-of-Year Field Trip
Please remember to send in your child’s money for our end-of-year field trip to the money. If you have any questions about this trip, please let us know. For this field trip, all students will need to be dressed in their Expedition uniform, and each student will need a brown bag lunch as we will be eating at the museum.

Summer Birthdays
If your child has a summer birthday and you would like to schedule a special day for an in-school celebration before the end of the year, please let me know. We can schedule a fun date to celebrate your special 1st grader. You are also welcome to bring a treat on that day if you’d like.
