MARY AND MAX - A NEW MUSICAL

October 16 - November 11, 2018

Based on an Australian claymation film about two unlikely pen pals, which screened in 2009 at the Calgary International Film Festival, Mary and Max is a hilarious and heartening tale that proves friendship can be found in the most unexpected of places. Join lonely 10-year-old Mary from Melbourne as she writes her way into the life of Max, a 44-year-old man with Asperger’s Syndrome in New York City. With quirky melodies and heartfelt dialogue, their friendship is one you’ll never forget.

Join us for the World Premiere of Mary and Max A New Musical. A story of happy accidents and the power of friendship. This musical is sure to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. Two quirky and unlikely pen pals come to life on stage from October 16 to November 10 with a Relaxed Performance on November 11.

INNER ELDER

October 23-27, 2018

A one –woman show created and performed by award winning Calgary actress, Michelle Thrush.

Inner Elder takes audiences on a journey of transformation through laughter and real life memories as Cree artist Michelle Thrush explores her own inner elder. Using a delicate blend of Bouffon and Indigenous Clowning this performance offers a heightened experience in the theatre and an extraordinary vision of our world.

As a Cree woman, Michelle is an activist for Aboriginal Canadians and other Indigenous peoples of the Americas.

12 HOUR HALLOWEEN HORROR MOVIE MARATHON

October 27, 2018

The Calgary Underground Film Festival is back with an all-night Horror Movie Marathon the Saturday before Halloween! Join us at Globe Cinema on October 27 for 12 hours of movies, contests and surprises – 7 movies from 7 pm until 7 am the next morning.  

You can come for one, come for them all, or drop in and out. But one thing is for sure – you that you'll laugh, scream and enjoy spending Halloween with fellow CUFF fans.
