Hey <<First Name>>!

In the past few years, we have given you weekly updates on the latest nonpartisan news and information. But starting today, we are also going to put it into context, once a month.

Here we go:
The Other Side Gif
This month, we’ve seen advances in electoral reform that, just a few years ago, wouldn't have even been considered. For example, in Colorado, a coalition of organizations, including The Centrist Project, is coming together to support open primaries, modernize campaign finance law, and back viable candidates who are serious about taking on both sides of the political aisle.
In national news, U.S. Rep. John Delaney (D-Md.) became the first 2020 presidential candidate. He also happens to be the sponsor of a bill that requires nonpartisan congressional primaries across the nation

In anti-duopoly news, the lawsuit against the Commission on Presidential Debates rolls on. Most recently, the FEC asked the judge, again, to dismiss the lawsuit. This time they have an interesting "argument." In other, but equally important news, partisan gerrymandering heads to the Supreme Court!

IVN also covered some good news for the Green Party and Jill Stein, while welcoming former Governor Gary Johnson as a regular contributor. Johnson says the time for independent representatives to take control of Washington D.C. is now!

Finally, on IVN's podcast: A Civil Assessment host T.J. O’Hara discusses the progress of the independent candidate movement with the head of The Centrist Project, Nick Troiano, and delves into the real reason behind America’s fiscal crisis with former U.S. comptroller and CEO of the GAO, David Walker.

At IVN, the editorial team has been working on expanding our editorial calendar to include authors like Charles Wheelan (an economist, co-founder of The Centrist Project), and Chris Malone (prominent political analyst and author of The Human Brand).

From far right to far left and everywhere in between, we will be offering more news and opinions from independent-minded authors on a more regular timetable. So, check the homepage or follow us on Facebook for regular updates!

Wheelan’s monthly column for example, will focus on finding common ground on policy issues. The first installment explores health care’s hyper-partisan sickness and what the 2016 election taught us about loyalty politics
Loyalty Politics
"When our loyalty to a social group is so strong that it becomes unconditional, we lose the ability to think independently and make rational judgments."

ICYMI: IVN on Facebook

At least once a week we post a poll on our Facebook, and our highly engaged, and diverse readers let us know where they stand...

Also, Chris Malone's first article caught the eyes and comments of lots of independent-minded voters.
