Good Day Book Lovers!

It has been a very busy few weeks: I've attended book club meetings, signing events, and spoke with students at a local school about The Art of Writing. See below for more details on these events.

The big news is the continuing editing process for my next book release,
Lasting Impressions. Updating a 150,000 word thriller, started in 1991 by a first-time novelist, has been quite the experience, especially when the novelist was me!  Believing every artist would love to rework earlier films, books, plays or music projects with a more mature eye, I'm confident this latest novel, 20+ years down the road, will make a favourable first impression all over again.

To promote Lasting Impressions, a Facebook page is now up and running. Simply LIKE the page and you'll be the first in line for the latest news about this exciting project. The Facebook link is listed below.

This month's Q & A section is brought to you with the help of a high school student looking to become an author who asked me 12 very interesting questions.

Finally, you know that Summer is around the corner when Windsor's huge Art In The Park craft show arrives (June 7-8, 2014). I'll be there both days signing and selling copies of all my books, so please visit my booth! More events are listed below.

As always, thank you for your support of my work and have a great day!

LEARNING LITERACY FROM AN AUTHOR — The Grade 4/5 and 6 classes at École St-Jean-Baptiste in Amherstburg welcomed author John Schlarbaum as part of their literacy project. The students are currently working on writing a detailed narrative. Schlarbaum, a novelist who also works as a private investigator, shared with the young authors how he transforms an idea into a novel.

Wow! Off the Beaten Path contains all the twists and turns, lies and deception needed to make a true cold case spring to life! I so enjoyed the plethora of characters. The story kept me guessing right up to the end with wit and laughter - welcome additions on this wild ride through some familiar places!
~ Jen Duguay, Amherstburg, ON

I like a mystery that keeps me in the dark almost to the very end. Often times, I can figure out how the case is going to end up by the middle of the book at the longest, but the Steve Cassidy series of books keep me guessing each and every time. Great characters throughout.
