Founder's Newsletter #8

- Marin

How is everyone doing?

Today's edition of the Founder's Newsletter is dedicated to a subject very close to us - the long term. A lot of what we are doing is geared towards a long-term vision we have for the company and the impact we would like to have. We've written about it a lot and I can tell you that it takes a lot of discipline and patience to adhere to this principle.

Somewhat accidentally this week I stumbled upon this podcast episode that gives a very good explanation and confirmation of the importance of the long-term.

As I also mentioned, discipline and patience are important too. So is showing up. Every. Single. Day. To do the work. Think of it as a stretching exercise. Or the practice of unlearning.

Most of the time I spend on DULO work is just that - doing the same thing over and over, then taking the time to reflect, adjust, unlearn, and repeat. It is not always newsworthy or exciting, but it is the reality of what it takes to build a business. At least that's my experience until this point in time.

What Can This Five-Century-Old Drawing Teach You? Everything That MattersRyan Holiday is a great writer, but I found this article as a very clever example of how a long-form piece of content and storytelling, can serve as a smart sales driver.

We all need an anchor. What is yours? A very powerful clip with some real fire coming from The Rock himself. It resonated a lot!
