SHORT COURSE RACES

This Sunday will see morning training and, at 2pm, TWO SHORT COURSE RACES will be sailed. This will be followed by a club dinner - see details below.

We will be joined for afternoon racing by some of the members of the Sun City Yacht Club sailing their Sabres.

CLUB DINNER AFTER RACING

Members and their guests are invited to experience a taste of Croatia after Sunday afternoon racing has finished. This Sunday's club dinner will be a Peka, a mix of meat and vegetables - a very hearty meal - see pic of ingredients, including mixed meats before expert cooking by club member Tom Arambasic. ONLY $10 A HEAD - Please pay on the day.

Our Club Facebook page cheekily mentioned that - contrary to what certain coaches may declare, the baking will NOT be fueled by old Lasers.

NEW TRAINING EVENT
Due to popular demand, a school holiday intro to sailing course for kids will be held this coming holidays....... Date: 12th – 16th April. .....To register click: here
If you know people who are interested, please send them the link - also at the Learn to Sail tab at our website.

REMINDER
MONDAY 5TH APRIL
Over the Easter long weekend, sailors (including trainees) are welcome to a practice sail on
Monday 5th (Easter Monday).
Support boat assistance will be limited so check the weather conditions and number of sailors on the day. This will be a casual sail from 10.30am with the chance for impromptu coaching. Trainees can take this opportunity to firm up your skills before the mini regatta to be held on Sunday morning, 11th April - more details to follow.

Look forward to seeing you on the water.

FLEET RACING

With only one club championship heat remaining, the leaders in each fleet will be hard to beat now. Laser Radials, Sabres and Mirrors have all seen hard fought races to date. The leaders only have three points or less separating them from the second placed competitors in those fleets.
Finishing times have been very close in the Sabres and Laser Radials. Last week we sailed course #5 - a rare westerly breeze course. Bruce Lee (C3PO) was only 24 seconds in front of Chris Holyday (Fuse) after the lead had changed quite a few times during the race.
Only a minute and 30 seconds separated the first three Laser Radials -  Alan Benn, Rob Hermans and Jerome Toonen over-the-line. Rob Hermans is now only two points clear of Jerome Toonen, with Alan Benn another point behind.
