🍦Still summer-time, things are looking up
We have reached July, and as the country is carefully opening back up again, we can now enjoy the outdoors more, and let's all remember to remain safe as not everyone has received their vaccinations yet (none or waiting for 2nd jab). It's still quite exciting to see that events calendars all round are quite busy. And bonus that it's still bright out when an event ends, yay for summer time! 🙌

Recently a really cool conference called ShortStack Conference giving people who are new to speaking a platform to give short talks, great to see a few faces from the Irish Tech Community.
Speaking about moving away, it's sad to hear that TOG Hackerspace is moving away from their current space (due to circumstances out of their control), and they are clearing out the space, and giving away some good stuff on Sat Jul 10 "from kitchen paraphernalia, craft supplies, electronics, and office furniture".
❤️ Oooh, I can give them there free stuff a home ❤️
Stepping into the unknown brings us to Virtual Grace Hoppers Celebration's theme... *drum roll, it's #DareTo, watch their awesome video announcing this year's theme.
Nominations are still open but deadline is Fri July 9th.
The Diversity in Tech Awards, taking place virtually on September 2nd 2021, will shine the spotlight on the achievements of organisations creating a more diverse workplace while striving to narrow the gender gap in the technology sector.
💖I want to nominate someone! 💖
In other Irish tech community news, GDG Galway and GDG Dublin are moving from meetup and moving to GDG platform, find them at:-
Now with Maker Advocate role behind me, it has been a delight seeing the Maker community come together at Dublin Maker's first ever virtual festival which took place in Gather Town last month.
Besides live-streaming newsroom-style, a documentary about the Makers was premiered on the same day.
I've still a few crafty projects to complete so this really helps give me a little push to finish the rest of my Maker projects, and I hope it will inspire you to make or finish that project, be it crafting, coding, soldering. 😀
👉 Don't forget that EuroPython tickets are on sale, and EuroPython are providing Financial Aid this year.

💪 I've been keeping a live list of virtual tech events with focus on Irish-hosted events. It's been very, very time consuming, and that also includes 100s of link checking per newsletter each month. 😓
💡 Therefore I've finally made a site that curates these events, and you can find all of July's events at this site. The site is an 11ty site (Nunjucks and TailwindCSS) and deployed via netlify. There's nothing fancy about it, it lists tech events and diversity in tech events around Ireland and Northern Ireland.
🌈 If you want to add an event, you can submit a PR or or an issue on github, Or you can email me at contact@codinggrace.com.
