Integrity in construction

RGD’s services available Australia wide

Whilst RGD Constructions (a division of RGD Property Group) is well known as one of the Sunshine Coast’s (QLD) leading construction companies, what isn’t so well known is that the company is now able to work on construction projects Australia wide.
The company has experienced significant growth over the past five years and has set its sights on expansion by offering its commercial, industrial and large-scale apartment construction and project management services to developers, investors and architects.
RGD Director Ron Grabbe said that with over 700 residential apartments and a large number of commercial projects completed in the past 10 years, the company had built a strong reputation for professionally delivering a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial projects.
“In addition to our high levels of residential construction, we’ve built some of the Sunshine Coast’s most recognised commercial buildings including the Kawana Private Hospital, The Edge’ commercial building and the iconic ‘Montegos’ restaurant precinct.

“We’ve invested a significant amount of time and resources refining our systems and capabilities to manage multiple, simultaneous construction projects throughout the country and deliver them on time and within budget.”

The RGD Team consists of Company Directors, Ron Grabbe and Steve Hopes, Construction Manager
Klint Grabbe, Design Manager Tracey Carbis and a team of specialist contractors. It has over $100m worth of projects currently on its books.

In the heart of the action

The future of south east Queensland’s construction industry is looking bright thanks to a range of major projects projected for the Sunshine Coast. What’s more, RGD’s headquarters is ideally positioned in the heart of it all.

Projects planned for the region include: the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) - a $1.8 billion project which will open in 2016 and will be the largest health precinct to be built in the Southern Hemisphere); the Sunshine Coast Health Hub retail and commercial precinct to support the SCUH which is expected to inject around $3.5 billion into the Sunshine Coast economy; the proposed $240m Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion; the construction of the new Maroochydore CBD on the former 53-hectare Horton Park Golf Course site with 150,000m2 commercial space and 65,000m2 retail space planned; and, the new  Caloundra South proposed satellite city with residential, business and industrial precincts and 50,000 residents predicted to live there by 2050.

RGD an active member of its local community
As well as being active in the development industry, RGD is active in its local community.

RGD Director, Ron Grabbe is President of Mooloolaba Outrigger Canoe Club (MOCC) and on the committee at a national level.  MOCC’s senior men’s team recently won the masters division of the ‘Molokai Hoe’ – a gruelling 66-kilometre race staged between Molokai and Oahu islands in Hawaii. In fact, they’ve won it 14 times in the past 20 years. Ron has paddled in every one.

The club, along with Sunshine Coast Council and Quad Park Sporting Stadium has also been instrumental in securing the National Sprint Titles at Lake Kawana for another four years and have recently won the bid on behalf of Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA) for the rights to hold the World Outrigger Titles at Lake Kawana in 2016. The World Title bid is expected to bring over 3000 competitors and more than $6 million dollars projected spend to the coast. Aloha indeed!

RGD adapts for easier living

For those in our community living with a disability life isn’t always easy.

That’s why RGD’s recent Broadwater apartment project included a number of apartments fitted with adaptive living features such as higher garage spaces, adaptive circulation design (to help accommodate wheelchairs), and larger bathroom areas to allow easier access to showers and appliances.

RGD would like to see adaptive design as a consideration in future projects and for all levels of government to give recognition and support for the delivery of these much needed features.

The Edge has the edge

Did you know that RGD’s headquarters and signature project, ‘The Edge’ was awarded Queensland’s first non-metropolitan Green Star Certified Project for its 7000m2 Sunshine Coast commercial hub?   Its corporate office was also awarded Queensland’s first non-metropolitan  5-Star Green Star – Office interiors v1.1 certified Project by the Green Building Council of Australia.

The building represents Australian excellence in environmentally sustainable design and RGD’s ongoing commitment toward sustainable development and best building practices.
