UPCOMING EVENTS | APRIL 2015

Saturday, April 18th at 7:30pm, PARSE is proud to host “Star Field I,” a musical collaboration organized and performed by Giant Peach.

“Star Field I” is a musical suite of 7 movements; each movement is a collaboration between a group from the public and an assigned New Orleans based composer.

The groups are drawn from various circumstances and stages of life, the youngest is a first grade class at Bricolage school, the oldest are members of a retirement home.  The result will be a musical work created both for, and in a large part by, the people of New Orleans.

Each group decides upon a subject that matter that is significant to them, then the group discusses how this subject matter may be expressed musically. This discussion provides the source material for the composer collaborating with the group.

As the movements are played side by side, “Star Field I” allows us to examine shifts in our perspectives as we mature, whilst highlighting any recurring themes that may span through all ages.

There is a visual element to this concert as Serbian VJ, Ana Dunjic, and local artists, Jacques Duffourc, Page Goss and Francis Wong will be providing artwork that is inspired by each participating group.

Tickets cost $10, free drinks included with ticket price.
