CPCF Checklist

Friday 4th October 2019

PSNC is working to provide as much information and as many resources as possible to help community pharmacy teams to understand the details of the new Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) agreement as they are finalised in the ongoing negotiations.

This email is one of a series of recommended actions for community pharmacy contractors to help you to get ready for the introduction of all elements of the five-year CPCF. There is a lot to do and details will be coming out in stages, so this email series will help guide you through the process and highlight all of the resources and support available to you.

19. PQS: Be aware that you can now view the gateway dataset report

Community pharmacy contractors can now view the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) weekly dataset report to check if they meet three out of the four gateway criteria of the Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS).

View the weekly dataset report (this is available under the ‘PQS datasets’ section)

The NHSBSA weekly dataset report, uses information from national datasets to assess whether contractors have met the following three gateway criteria: Advanced Services; NHSmail; and NHS website.

The website dataset report will also show whether contractors have edited or verified all three of the required sections of their NHS website profile (opening hours, services and facilities). Therefore, the report can act as a double check that this task has been completely correctly and if not, provides contractors with the opportunity to go back into their NHS website profile and update as necessary to meet the gateway criterion.

The weekly dataset report will be published every Friday from today (4th October 2019) to 2nd March 2020 with a two-week gap between 27th December 2019 and 3rd January 2020.

Contractors should be aware that even if a contractor is currently meeting the NHSmail gateway criterion, their status on this may change, ahead of the PQS declaration period. For example, if there are only two personal NHSmail accounts linked to the shared NHSmail account and one of these becomes inactive, ahead of the PQS declaration date, the contractor may then show as not meeting the NHSmail gateway criterion. Contractors are therefore encouraged to check the report in early 2020, in the weeks leading up to the PQS declaration period, to ensure they are still meeting this gateway criterion.
