David Huffman shared some good news with Trinity's deacons and elders, and we wanted to make sure that you knew, too. Elaine Wolf, his wife, had successful kidney transplant surgery Sunday evening, March 7th. She's received all good reports from her surgeon, and even took her first post-surgery walk this afternoon.
The game plan is for Elaine to remain at Duke in Durham through this Friday, at a minimum. David stays with her from 9am until 9pm, providing the support, care, and careful attention needed after such a significant surgery.
The very best way to support Elaine and David is through your prayers! If you would like to send Elaine a note or a card, their home address is: 8705 Mansfield Drive, Raleigh, 27613.
The medical staff has asked the Huffmans not to accept prepared food. Although this is one of Trinity's strengths when caring for someone, there is too much of a risk at a time when Elaine's immune system is suppressed. This suppression is to increase her body's acceptance of her new kidney. As Elaine continues to heal, David will keep us posted if there is anything their family should need.
Elaine's spirits are good and David is extremely upbeat. They appreciate the loving response they've already received and are grateful for your good wishes and prayers.
