It's no mystery

You're a great community of book lovers.

'Tis the season to say thank you and it is no mystery that our success so far is because of your support of Mystery to Me.

We have so much to celebrate this season and a lot of new books to tell you about. Without further ado, here's a peek at what is good with the world...

  • Kathleen Ernst launched her newest in the Chloe Ellefson series with a cake complete with rosemalling! You can see the top of the cake in the header of the newsletter. Heritage of Darkness and other books in the series continue to be among the store's best sellers!
  • As promised, we are increasing our inventory of works by local and regional authors. We had a great launch of View from the Interior by Chief Susan Riseling. The book tells the story of what it was like inside the Capitol during the protests of 2011.
  • Also local author Chris Hollenback launched his new mystery Sleep When You're Dead. We sold a record number of books at a signing! Congratulations to Chris.
  • Inventory is looking good! We've sold more that 6100 books since opening five months ago which allows us to buy new stock and keep you all happy and coming back to the store (hint hint).
  • You'll notice that there are events listed below that really have nothing to do with mystery. In order to bring new people into the store it's important to offer a variety of activities. Also, in addition to mystery, Mystery to Me is stocking more and more local and regional authors - that includes everything from poetry to art, photography and history. It's been quite fun getting to meet so many interesting people.
  • Every so often there will be occasion to send you a separate email that provides more details about an upcoming event. The subject line should give you sufficient information to know what's included.
  • One of the areas of growth as been in children's and young adult books. We have a great selection including The Day the Crayons Quit, Sophie's Squash (local author!) and There's a Tiger in My Soup (another local author!). Check out the event schedule for the 4th Annual Take Your Child to a Bookstore Day.
