The part-time program features a schedule that works around your busy life: material is delivered in weekend sessions Friday evenings and all day Saturday. The sessions are held roughly every three weeks for a total of 12 weekend sessions per year.
In June the Conrad School hosted the latest ConradConnect Live at the Ryerson DMZ in downtown Toronto. The event at the DMZ featured student pitches from current full-time students in the Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) program, who pitched their ventures for a chance to win cash prizes.
The Conrad School welcomes Janet Boekhorst in the role of Assistant Professor. With a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management, Janet brings considerable expertise to the Conrad School in the following areas: strategic high performance work systems, workplace diversity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing, all within the startup ecosystem. Janet will be teaching BET 450: Leadership in winter 2019 and BET 340: Essentials of Entrepreneurial Planning and Execution, beginning in fall 2018.
The Conrad School is proud to announce the appointment of Roopa Reddy in the position of Lecturer. Roopa is a graduate of The London School of Economics, The University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University. She will be teaching BET 420 Entrepreneurship for Social Impact, BET 100 (Online) Foundations of Entrepreneurial Practice, and BET 620 Social Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility (in the part-time MBET program).
Congratulations are in order for Professor Nada Basir, who was featured in a CBC article on June 25th. In the article, entitled "Profits and perils of the new Canadian pot economy," Nada spoke to growth that can be expected in startup activity as it relates to the legalization of marajuana in Canada, set to come into effect in October, 2018.
Amanda Watkins returned from her maternity leave in June and has resumed her role as Marketing and Communications Manager. We are thrilled to have her back at the Conrad School.
Pamela Braza Pitman, who assumed the Marketing and Communications Manager role while Amanda was on leave, has accepted a new role at the Conrad School as Associate Director, Outreach and International Programs. In this role Pamela will take on the re-branding efforts associated with our new name as well as special projects related to our move to E7, alumni and corporate engagement, and international program development.
Whether you are an MBET, former E Co-op, BETS, GDip, or undergraduate course student, the Conrad School would like to do more to increase awareness of companies founded by our alumni.
We are planning to create a space on our website to showcase your company and we need your help. If you are a Conrad School alumnus who has founded or co-founded a company, please share your company name and logo with us today.
