Ruatahi Medical Centre is pleased to welcome three new faces to the team.

It's no secret our staff is what makes our practice special. With this in mind, we're excited to welcome three new faces to the Ruatahi Medical Centre whānau.

Prabhjot is our new nurse, Jenipher is our new Health Care Assistant (HCA), and Shona is our new receptionist. If you see any of these three at your next appointment, make sure you introduce yourself and get to know them a bit better. We think they're all excellent additions to the team and trust you will see why in no time at all.

We are also in the process of implementing new Practice Management Software at the clinic. While we believe this will ultimately improve your experience when engaging with our practice, there will be some disruptions as staff get familiar with the new system. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

People in Group 3 are now receiving invites to book their COVID-19 vaccination.

With this in mind, you may receive a text message similar to this:

"Kia ora
You are part of Group 3 for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
To make an appointment, phone 0800 XXX XXX or email xxx@lakesdhb.govt.nz."

When you receive this message, you can book your COVID-19 vaccination — and our team encourages you to do so.

Immunisation against infectious diseases has been more effective in preventing illness and death than any other medical intervention. Ruatahi Medical Centre supports the New Zealand government’s COVID-19 immunisation program as current research data shows the Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective for patients.

Appointment Fees

There will be a slight increase in our consultation fees from Monday the 12th of July. These increases are as follows:

14-17 Years consults will rise to $27 (from $26)
18-24 Years consults will rise to $39 (from $38)
24-64 Years consults will rise to $40 (from $38)
65+ Years consults will rise to $38 (from $36)

These increases are due to the rising costs of providing health care services. Our practice is committed to offering you the quality you expect and deserve, and we have found a way to minimise the price increase to the least possible amount while still achieving our desired goals.

The Ruatahi Medical Centre team are letting you know Dr Marijke Boers has left the practice. We thank Marijke for her dedication towards all of her patients and helping us in our mission to serve the local community.

Rest assured, your care is in safe hands. Dr Hina Chandra, Dr Anne Dibley, Dr Lise Griffith, Dr Lisa Hughes and Dr Liz Powell will continue providing health care services to Marijke's patients at Ruatahi Medical Centre, with a fantastic nursing team supporting them.
