In today's newsletter, we cover upcoming City Council and Second District meetings, City-funded community grant opportunities, and more. As always, be sure to check out the bulletin board for updated public health guidance, events, and engagement opportunities.
There are a number of notable City meetings that I want to draw your attention to next week, including:
City Council: will have two meetings on Monday, a special meeting at 2pm to discuss the City's Inclement Weather Shelter plans, and its Organizational Development committee meeting at 5pm, which will feature updates on the FY24 budget, the City Center redevelopment process, and regional tourism. Click here for the full agenda and participation instructions.
Last, but certainly not least-- we will be having our last Second District community meeting of the year on Wednesday at 6pm via Zoom. You can access the direct Zoom link here, and the Facebook event here.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Do you know of or are a part of a local non-profit or public sector organization doing great work in the City? Now's your chance to apply for City dollars to help support that work.
Applications for the city’s General Fund non-departmental grants, which go to local organizations to fund community-oriented programming, are now available on the City website.
Eligible organizations may apply for the city to fund specific programming in three key priority areas: children, youth and education; housing, human services and health; and the arts and culture. This application continues to be the form for all quasi-governmental organizations to apply for city funding.
Next week, the informational workshop for potential applicants will be held virtually on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 at 1 PM. Full details can be found here. The workshop will be especially helpful for new organizations that have not been through this process.
Request for Funding Applications for City General Funds must be
submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022.
