Today's special edition of the newsletter covers reminders of a number of important upcoming meetings, but I first want to take a moment to recognize the recent passing of our Congressman, A. Donald McEachin. The Congressman was an inspiring, dedicated and exceptional public servant. I feel immense loss and sadness, but also gratitude for knowing him, and for the example he set fighting for our City, our Commonwealth, and our environment, each and every day.
Congressman McEachin's family has asked that in lieu of flowers, those that are interested would consider a donation to The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in memory of A. Donald McEachin. You can find more information via Commonwealth Attorney McEachin's recent Facebook post here.
We can also honor the Congressman's memory by heeding his call to take advantage of opportunities for early detection and screening for colorectal cancer. You can learn more here.
