Édition n31 | January - February - March 2017
Editorial
Dear partners, dear readers,

For the Monegasque Cooperation, the first trimester of 2017 was marked by the visit to Monaco of Mr. Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The Prince's government has supported the UNHCR in its emergency and development operations since 1956, and more recently in three zones: the Middle East in the context of the Syrian crisis, the African continent and its "forgotten crises" such as Sudan, as well as the Maghreb region. Two agreements aiming to facilitate the socio-professional integration of refugees in Morocco and Tunisia were signed during this historic visit.

During this first trimester, there were numerous natural disasters in our countries of cooperation: the cyclone Enawo devastated Madagascar in contrast to the persistent drought in Africa affecting millions of people. The Prince's government is doing its part in the face of these crises by responding to the international community's calls for emergency aid.

I wish you a pleasant reading,
Bénédicte Schutz, Directeur de la Coopération Internationale
