Plus: Capitol Hill’s farmers market is moving!

It’s another hump day, folks.

Yesterday’s newsletter mentioned that Seattle is having a bit of a pastry boom and Evergrey reader Jeff P. wrote in telling us about his own cycling adventure to find the best croissant in the city.

He even made a bracket and everything. The “Cyclo-Croiss” (big hat tip for this excellent name) tournament is now in its semi-final round, which you can follow along with here

Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of croissants and don’t have a strong opinion on the best one around the city but if you have one, send me the name. Maybe I just need the *right* one to blow me away and change my perception of the pastry.

Now on to the news.

What Seattle is talking about

Capitol Hill’s farmers market is moving! Starting April 18, the market will move to the newly finished plaza by Capitol Hill Station. It’s not a big move — if you go to its old location in front of Seattle Central you won’t have to look very far — but it’s one they've been looking forward to. (Capitol Hill Seattle Blog)

Can Climate Pledge Arena become one of the top music venues? The CEO of Oak View Group — the business behind the new arena — believes so. KeyArena was less than ideal for the live shows it hosted due to poor acoustics and difficult loading situation. But Oak View Group’s CEO is touting the new space as specifically designed, not only for sports but optimized for live music, addressing many of these qualms. (The Seattle Times)

The Tuskegee Airmen of the PNW. As the squad celebrates 80 years since President Roosevelt activated them, learn about the soldiers who came from the area. And if you haven’t yet, read about Sam Bruce — the only airman from Seattle to die in the war and one of the original Tuskegee Airmen. (KUOW)

Animals — they’re just like us. The animals at the Woodland Park Zoo and Seattle Aquarium spent this past year, like us, getting used to a new normal. Instead of visits from people, animals enjoyed meeting fellow critters from the zoo while the aquarium entertained their residents with new games. (The Stranger)

One more thing …

I missed the initial memo but I’m sharing this important information with you now. QFC is offering Girl Scout cookies inside their Western Washington stores. While the Girl Scouts won’t be there selling the cookies themselves, you can pick up a box — let’s be real boxes — at your local QFC and know that 100% of the proceeds from the sales will go back to local troops.

That said, Thin Mints are the best. My inbox is open for anyone who feels the need to dispute this fact.

And as always what I've been consuming this past week...

🍴 Cooking: Rick cakes

📺 Watching: Emerald Fennell and Olivia Wilde's talk for Variety's Directors on Directors

🎧 Song on repeat: Miss Grit — "Grow Up To"

That is all, catch you all tomorrow.
