Dear Friends of Jersey Animal Coalition,

As one of the nearly 15,000 people who have adopted pets from Jersey Animal Coalition, I know firsthand how much JAC has enhanced so many lives.

My own beloved dog Jake was rescued from a high-kill shelter by a JAC staff member and has lived happily ever after with us in a fur-ever home. I cannot imagine life without Jake- I’m sure you feel the same about your JAC rescued companions.

I am writing because JAC is facing a crisis and needs your help! JAC was closed to the public since March, when one cat with ringworm was dropped off at the shelter by local Animal Control and the ringworm quickly spread to two other cats. This illness has long been cured, and the shelter has received certification from its veterinarian testifying to the health of EVERY animal housed there. Yet, JAC has waited months until just two days ago for approval to reopen our shelter and resume adopting out our pets.

As a result of this long delay, JAC has not been able to offer animals for adoption, even though there is a long list of people waiting eagerly to adopt. During this time of crisis JAC continues to give medical care, food and shelter to its animals that would otherwise be in homes with loving families. Today, JAC’s very existence is threatened due to outstanding veterinary bills and other costs of running the facility.

While adoption fees provide an important source of income for JAC, it is OUR donations – yours and mine—that provide primary funding sources. Please show your support of JAC, a true no-kill shelter- by providing a tax-deductible donation today so it can continue its mission of helping animals that are abused, neglected, unwanted, or just wandering the streets helplessly in search of a safe place. Jersey Animal Coalition has been that safe place for the past 26 years!

I’ve seen animals come to JAC in horrific shape with equally horrific health issues that need to be taken care of immediately. Rather than euthanizing these animals as many other shelters would, JAC provides necessary medical treatment until JAC can find their fur-ever homes.

Please make a tax-deductible donation online today!

You can indicate in the “Special Purpose” section whether you’d like your gift to help with JAC’s “Vet Bill” or “Daily Operations” OR you can mail a check made payable to Jersey Animal Coalition mailed to JAC, 298 Walton Avenue, South Orange, NJ 07079, referencing in the memo field “Vet Bill” or Daily Operations.”

Your support will allow JAC to continue its life saving mission of helping those who can’t speak for themselves.

Our communities will be poorer if JAC cannot continue its compassionate work. Help preserve the lives of these precious animals by making a tax deductible donation today! Help JAC reach its fundraising goal of $100,000!

Together we can give the Jersey Animal Coalition a second chance at life, just as it has done for so many years for its four-legged friends.

AND, don’t forget to Like JAC on Facebook and follow them on Twitter and Pinterest.

With Gratitude,
Liz Steen
Proud Supporter of Jersey Animal Coalition
P.S. I believe so strongly in the wonderful work that JAC does, that I even joined their Board of Trustees!
