AMWA Community News

In this Edition ...

Dear Community Member,

Visit us at NAB
Stop by at the Futures Park, booth N1431FP, for details of our new Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS) projects. You will also hear how the plan for dematerialised facilities can be delivered in practice, using the Agile Media Blueprint.

Joining us will be our JT-NM partner, the Video Services Forum, with presentations and information on their projects, Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) and JPEG 2000 Ultra-Low Latency (J2K-ULL).

Visit to hear one of the presentations or to discuss if these developments can help your business.

The AGM at NAB
Our Annual General Meeting will take place on the booth at 5:30pm on Monday, 9th of April. Election of Board members will take place, along with a short review of the year's activities. Anyone from our member organizations is welcome – and prospective members too!

Networked Media - Now and in the Future
New work is taking place under the NMOS banner, including Scalability (led by Sony), High Level Grouping (led by Grass Valley), Security (led by the EBU) and Event & Tally (led by Suitcase TV).

In January, an Architecture Summit was held on behalf of the JT-NM, to identify next steps for its technology roadmap; specifically the work needed to deliver dematerialised facilities. The event was hosted by Avid and attended by representatives from end users and suppliers active in this field. The discussions took account of the need for today's IP technology developments to work seamlessly in the transition to dematerialised facilities. The output of these three busy days is the Agile Media Blueprint, a reference document detailing use cases, business benefits, the technical strategy and proposals for implementation.

Additions to the AS-11 Family
ITV has joined the AMWA to be the business sponsor of two new specifications, AS-11 X5 for UHD Commercials & Promotions and X6 for HD Commercials & Promotions. The UK's DPP is working to define the business requirements. This will be followed by development of the technical specifications by the AMWA.

Brochures in advance
Once again you can access the show material before, during and after the show via the links on the subject headings below. They are also available on the Brochures section of the Resources page at AMWA.tv. Copies will be available, as usual, on our booth.
