We've raised our young people to follow rules and ask for permission to be granted before they do something. The downfall to that is students always want/need affirmation and confirmation about their thoughts, ideas, and passions. I say it at least once a day at school that this is your project, your dream, your time and you don't need my approval. You can literally do whatever you want, so do it! Nothing can stop you and you have everything you need to create the life you want for yourself!
