Hi there,
I feel like I'm eating an elephant (or two) this month, one bite at a time.

I've run or walked 117 miles this month with 13 days left to finish the remaining 103 miles. When I'm stationary, I'm working through my self-imposed challenge of publishing 30 blog posts in 30 days, 500 words or less.

It's been busy, but I look forward to the brief moment of triumph when it's over! (And, I think my wife looks forward to a little normalcy...)

My favorite article this week was Writing as a Way to Play because as much as I enjoy writing, I've never approached it solely as an opportunity to play. It was shockingly fun -- I couldn't help but wonder why we don't these types of activities in school, especially in a digital environment. Creating a Next-Level Online Experience

Julia Saxena has taken eight online courses in the last two years, but only finished two: Building a Second Brain and Write of Passage.

She identified 11 core components for creating the optimal experience. They're all key, but these are three that stood out to me as we transition to this new normal and my own organization looks toward virtual training.

Students set their intentions.

Encourage discussion.

Students need to take action.
GRVAT Update

I'm running virtually across Tennessee in the Great Virtual Race Across Tennessee (GRVAT). 634 miles between May 1 until August 31st. For the push to the finish, I'm tracking it on a big, whiteboard right beside my computer screen.
