What's new at SCYAP

The second session of Urban Canvas Express just completed their first 8 weeks employment readiness portion at SCYAP.  During the initial weeks the participants completed courses in FoodSafe, First Aid & CPR, and obtained 10 online Health and Safety certificates.  In additional to all this the group did resume and cover letter building, job searching, intensive interviewing practise, plus workshops highlighting goal setting, budgeting, time management and communication.  The participants are now off to their work placements with local businesses. SCYAP would like to thank the following businesses for stepping up and partnering with us on this project, Clip and Climb, Saskatoon Downtown BID DTNYXE, Pizza Hut, CNYC, Friendship Inn, CHEP, and AKA. The Urban Canvas Express is SCYAP's newest employment readiness project is funded by the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training of the Saskatchewan Government.  Please contact Clay Shaw Operations Manager at SCYAP for more information.  operations@scyapinc.com

In early summer 2019 SCYAP become a community partner with
K+S Potash through their K+S youth+us community initiative.  A highlight of the partnership was 3 commissioned art works created by former Urban Canvas Participants for the K+S Potash Corporate building in downtown Saskatoon.  An unveiling and reception was held on October 7th, to celebrate the art, the artists and the current Urban Canvas Express Project.
