Many students have wondered is (Shabbat at) Chabad really for me? They think...
I am not religious. I can't even read Hebrew. In fact, I don't know too many people or any one that hangs out there. Will I feel awkward? Is it clicky?
Some guys think, the last time I did anything Jewish was my circumcision and I am not looking for any more pain!
So, we invite you to hear straight from the hearts of your peers. Jewish students from all walks of life and backgrounds right here at CWRU.
I was raised a reform Jew and while that is what I'm a used to, I love that Chabad brings together, and is accepting of all reform, conservative, and orthodox Jews. Chabad is my family all year round! If something bad were to ever happen or I needed someone to turn to, I know that Chabad is there for me. (B.G., 2017)
Chabad has been a wonderful part of my first year at CWRU. I feel very connected to Judaism, even more so than before! I know that Rabbi Mendy and Sara are there for me on a daily basis whenever I need them. They provide a warm, inviting environment full of uplifting events (Shabbat is one of the highlights of my week) and discussions as well as perfect a home away from home. (S.G., 2018)
The Alevskys are always thoughtful and compassionate, and go out of their way to get to know us as people, and support our endeavors, both personally and academically. Their presence has made me proud of my faith and my studies, helping to unite my spiritual life and my collegiate commitments. (J.L., 2018).
Come over and join us so you can see for yourself what they are talking about!
