Team PHenomenal Hope

Welcome to the April Update

More than flowers will be blooming in May. Pulmonary hypertension awareness will flourish with two events next month. First, Team PHenomenal Hope will support more than 20 athletes in the Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday as they race for PH patients. Then, it will be World PH Day on May 5, with activities scheduled across the globe to bring attention to the rare disease.

Warrior Bio

My name is Cynthia and I have PH. I also have scleroderma, Sjogrens and Raynauds. I probably had PH quite a while before I was diagnosed. My shortness of breath was because I was over weight and didn’t exercise enough. When my breathing became worse it was diagnosed as asthma.

PHenomenal Results

Without the strong support of wonderful sponsors, pulling off an event like the PHenomenal Hope 5K would not be possible. This year's race – held on a frigid, early April morning – continued to grow, with more than 300 runners and walkers participating and more than $20,000 raised. So to all the sponsors, "Thank you!"
