Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On February 26, 2020, God blessed our sister Marilyn J. Hardesty with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Marilyn.
Marilyn was given life by her creator and was born on May 24, 1933 to Arthur and Laura Isabelle "Belle" (Miller) Reitemeier. She received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On September 11, 1949 she married Richard J. Hardesty. He preceded her in death in 1991. She was blessed with the gift three children: Connie (husband, Dick) Maxwell, Ronald (wife, Brenda) Hardesty, and Deb (husband, Jeff) Wilcox. God also blessed Marilyn with six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
God blessed Marilyn’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, Grace Lutheran Church, Andover Corp, Lafayette School Corporation, and in the greater Lafayette community.
Visitation will be held from 1pm-2pm Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2pm at with Reverend Ed Morrow officiating. Interment to follow at Spring Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Marilyn.
In Christ,
Pastor Eggold
