Winter has arrived and 21 June will mark winter solstice. Who has begun the countdown to the shortest day of the year (which technically means we're already on our way to warmer weather)?!

I'm sure many of you have also begun counting down to the winter break. I am thinking that might be a good time for me to create a little video about what (and how) to pack for a week away? If you're planning to get away and have any fashion or style related questions that I could help with, please
email me and I'll include the solutions in my video.

Speaking of planning - my apologies for not getting an update out for the month of May. I have been really busy planning and designing a series of style workshops which I'll talk more about later in this update. I'm so excited about them though!
Another thing I've kept busy with this past month is a little Autumn/Winter Capsule Wardrobe challenge I've created for myself. I'll post the video below, along with some of the looks I've put together so far. You can view and follow on Instagram or Facebook too. Basically, it's a 35 piece collection of clothing I've pulled together from items that still fit (after a 10kg weight increase last year), along with some thrift store purchases to fill in the gaps.

The point of doing this challenge is to show that no matter what the scale reads, it doesn't define who we are. We are totally worthy of looking and feeling great about ourselves every day! Also, if you often find yourself thinking that you don't want to invest money in any new clothing until you've lost some weight, this challenge is for you to keep an eye on. I didn't spend money on any new pieces other than from the thrift store, and I reckon I could get at least 30-40 different looks from this 35 piece capsule until I begin repeating them.

Here are the first dozen looks - but just remember that we each have our unique personal style and this is mine...which I would describe the look as Victoria Beckham meets Keith Richards at a Gwen Stefani concert. And the message I want to send out to the world with my image is "I'm a strong and ambitious business owner with a chic, well-groomed, edgy vibe - yet still friendly and approachable".

I hope you enjoy. If you can relate and are inspired by any of this, reach out and
let's work together!

Preparing for an upcoming job interview? Did you know that within the first 7 seconds of meeting someone new, we have already been judged based on our appearance? I'd like to help you make a positive and lasting impression with your interviewer by offering some outfit inspiration (conservative and slightly more creative) and make getting dressed easier. Feel pulled together and spend your valuable time focusing on question preparation rather than stressing over what to wear. Let me know if you need any help, and good luck if you're up for a new role in the near future! So exciting!
If you live in Christchurch and would like to "Master Your Personal Style", I will be running a series of five x 90 minute workshops out of the gorgeous Morgan and Page boutique at The Tannery.

In this series you will:
  • Discover your unique personal style.
  • Understand your body shape and how to balance proportions with clothing & accessories.
  • Determine your personal colour palette that will make you look radiant.
  • Learn how to find outfit inspiration.
  • Edit your wardrobe to its best pieces and put together new looks.
  • Learn how to combine wardrobe basics and trends.
  • Learn how to shop like a pro - with purpose and a strategy.

The first series will begin on Monday 24 June (with more coming in August). There are only 10 spaces available altogether, so please register your interest ASAP. View the details and register HERE. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for future workshops, please email me.
I'm also happy to announce that Studio Bibi now has a Meetup Group called New Zealand Style Lab. My intention with this group is to provide events (retreats, workshops, information sessions, clothing swaps, film or documentary screenings, coffee chats, etc) throughout the year so that our community can connect, discuss and practice activities related to style and our overall image.

If you have any other ideas or would like any of the above to be the first event, please contact me and I'll begin organising. Hope to see you there!
Don't forget, I'm always available to demonstrate or answer any questions you may have. I also have all products set up in my studio, should you wish to stop by and try them out. If you'd like to schedule a skincare and makeup consult, please email me or you can purchase products directly from my World Organics page.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please get in touch with me.
Enjoy the rest of June!
