NOBLE NEWS - MARCH 2014

Spring has sprung!

The clocks have moved forward for daylight savings time and everyone is breathing a sigh of relief as winter has loosened its hold on us, and we can start to imagine long walks without toques, scarves, mittens and heavy boots. The BBQ out on the deck is looking a lot more user-friendly
without a heap of snow on it.

We have made it through another winter! Let’s celebrate with some fantastic wine, hearty food and great friends.

 
BIG TASTE CALGARY

BIG TASTE Calgary runs from March 7 – 16.
Noble Ridge wines are paired with the Yellow Door Bistro throughout this event, and we are featured at the RAW BAR Cocktail Dinner Event on March 14

EASTER WEEKEND - and WINE SHOP OPENS DAILY

Easter
 is fast approaching and we have some great things lined up for the long weekend.  We have some Shop specials including discounts on bottle and case purchases. Our luscious Pinot Noir will be offered for 10% off as a case lot sale – delicious with Turkey or Ham!

We will also be having a draw for a very special Easter-themed gift basket with wine and of course, chocolate!

WINE CLUB

If you are not already a Wine Club Member, now is a perfect time to join us. Our March shipment is being packed up and shipped off this month with free membership to members, along with many privileges for you to enjoy, including discounts and access to library wines. Orders are shipped directly to the door, or picked up at the Wine Shop if you happen to be living in the Okanagan area. Check us out at www.nobleridge.com.

Would you like to learn more about wine? New for 2014, and exclusive to our Wine Club members we will be presenting Winemaker Wednesdays with Phil Soo for Wine Club members, free to participate on the third Wednesday of the month from May through September. More details to follow; these events promise to be very fun and informative.


VINEYARD & WINERY REPORT

Out in the vineyard, our crew has now finished pruning all of our Merlot and Chardonnay and started carefully pruning our Pinot Noir. Although winter is considered the slow season in the vineyard, pruning is the single most influential activity affecting vine growth and fruit quality for the upcoming harvest. In the winery, the cellar crew is just finalizing cold stability on our whites and we are getting ready for an exciting day of bottling in March. The 2013 reds, now aging in oak barrels, already display soft and integrated tannins with great fruit concentration and complexity. Keep an eye open for the release of another great vintage.
