PIC members and friends will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at The Merchant. This upscale tavern is located at 181 University Ave., between Osgoode and St. Andrew subway stations. Look for our group in the City Bar room. If the weather is good, we'll move onto the patio.

Deadline approaching: Submit your application for the next CMP exam

Become a certified communicator and take your career to the next level. IABC/Toronto is delighted to host the next Communication Management Professional (CMP) certification exam on October 22. Deadline to apply for this cohort of the CMP program is September 1.
The Communication Management Professional (CMP) certification is aimed at the generalist/specialist level, and is designed around ISO (17024), an international standard for professional certifications.
Key dates:
  • September 1: application deadline for October exam.
  • October 8: exam registration deadline
  • October 22: CMP exam

Submit your recommendation for a 2017 IABC World Conference keynote

The IABC World Conference Program Advisory Committee is considering potential keynotes for the next World Conference, taking place on June 11-14, 2017 in Washington D.C. The theme is #IABC17: Global Business – Lead communication, make real impact.
The annual conference draws about 1,000 attendees from nearly 40 countries, the vast majority of whom work in corporate environments.
Following is the criteria that we seek in a keynote speaker:
  • An authentic, dynamic and effortless speaker with a commanding stage presence who is able to connect with audiences in a meaningful way;
  • Knowledgeable about international business communication and able to articulate the tangible importance and critical value of communication to an organization;
  • Prepared to offer innovative content that will resonate with an audience of international business communicators;
  • Proven ability in terms of presentations to large, global audiences at commercial business conferences.
