Can't buy Gold!

In the BARS Program, each operator that achieves the status of Gold has worked very hard to achieve this level. There are no shortcuts and you cannot simply purchase your way to a Silver or Gold level of BARS Registration.

It takes at least three audits - independent evaluations by a BARS Audit Company and all the renewal audits must be completed within the Operator's Registration period. For each of these audits, any finding must be adequately addressed with the allocated time frame (90 days nominally).

The result is the Registration of an Operator who has demonstrated their ability to meet the BAR Standard on a contracted BMO flight.

Operators who close their findings late or have a break in the registration period are still recognized in the BARS Program with the Green status - they are still capable and registered nonetheless.

You can see there are no shortcuts to the Gold level in BARS, it takes hard work, dedication, and a demonstrated understanding of risk management principles. We applaud and recognize these Operators - there are presently 60 in the Program.

Aircraft Operator profile- United Aero

The United Aero Helicopters Management team has been involved in the industry for over 30 year as both pilots and managers of large aviation organisations.  Through the BARS Program they offer a fleet of up to sixteen single and multi-engine helicopters to BARS Member Organizations.  They have worked with many government and commercial services for Geophysical Survey, Firefighting, Construction, Exploration, Media, Charter flights and more. United Aero also operate a flight training school, and attend to the maintenance and service of their fleet, via their in-house approved maintenance organization Aerofix Pty Ltd.
 
United Aero have been registered within the BARS Program since Oct 2014, and within their time with the BARS Program they have achieved Gold registration after only three Audits. With safety at the forefront, United Aero has gained a very professional reputation and pride themselves on continually providing a high level service to their customers.

The New look of the BARS Suite


The BAR Standard documents are all available on the website, but you will notice they have changed slightly in the way they look. The main Standard document for Contracted Aircraft Operations is still the same with the dedicated Standards for Offshore Helicopter Operations, Aerial Mustering and Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS) all having had a change in theirs covers making up the BARS Suite . Within the Standards, there are Operational Categories for a wide variety of specialist roles such as airborne geophysical survey operations, night vision goggle operations, winching and hoist operations, medevac and helicopter external loads.

The Standards are developed by the industry and contracting companies and based around the specific risk these operations face in their day to day aviation activities.

New Green and New Gold Aircraft Operators

This March the new levels of achievements for Aircraft Operators are;

Northwestern Air lease and PT Travira Air for achieving Gold Registration.
 
And Helistar Aviation and Hélicoptères Helicarrier Inc. for coming into the program as a new operator.
 
Good work on the above achievements whether its for the first time or as a continued achievement. We welcome those new to the Program and look forward to working with all the Aircraft Operators within the program.
